VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It supports a large number of multimedia formats, without the need for additional codecs.
It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network. The network on which you setup the VideoLAN solution can be as small as one ethernet 10/100Mb switch or hub, and as big as the whole Internet.
The VideoLAN streaming solution has full IPv6 support.

vlc is awesome. Software Informer is not.. DO NOT SHOW ALPHA/BETA BUILDS AS UPDATES. I thought software informer was great at
first until I found out most "updates" aren't updates at all.

You can turn the notifications of beta-versions off in SI Client. To do so choose Options->General settings, then tick
"Don't notify me about beta-versions"

vlc is is most suited player for any type of file to play.it can play
any media file exept some viz having
extenion of of bin. overall it is the best player.
